Week of Aug 3 to 9

The Lion's Gate Opens

We are fully in Leo season, the very energy this community of lionesses was born under. I named this group right after the inauguration during the Full Moon in Leo, knowing we would need your fierce, steady, heart-centered lioness energy to carry us through the collective shifts we are in, as only babies in the Age of Aquarius.

This Saturday, August 8th, Sirius rises with the sun — the heliacal rising, the moment this ancient light breaks free of the sun's shadow and returns to our dawn sky. Sirius, what ancient traditions call our spiritual sun, was revered by the Egyptians as Isis. Her return marked the flooding of the Nile — the waters that made life and abundance possible — and signaled her reunion with Orion, Osiris. That is the true heart of the Lion's Gate: the sun in Leo, the star returning, spiritual illumination and physical abundance arriving together.

What makes this year's gate particularly potent is its numerology. The date itself — 8/8/2026 — reduces in tarot numerology to two Major Arcana cards: 17, The Star (1 + 7 = 8), and 8, Strength.

Look closely at that axis: The Star (Card 17 / Aquarius) represents the macrocosm — cosmic vision, celestial hope, and the high-octave spiritual light of Sirius pouring down from the ether. Strength (Card 8 / Leo) represents the microcosm — the fire inside your own ribcage, your physical heart, and the steady nervous system required to hold that high-voltage light without flinching, shrinking, or shutting down.

When the vision of The Star meets the embodied capacity of Strength, we aren't just talking about abstract abundance. We are talking about receiving actual high-frequency spiritual light — wisdom, soul truth, and vitality — into our daily, physical lives. The Star offers the transmission, but Strength is what allows you to actually hold it in your body. You cannot receive cosmic light if you don't have the grounded fortitude to stay open to it.

That is what this gate is asking of us, and the universe is preparing us for it early. Today, August 3rd, Chiron stations retrograde in Taurus, the sign of the physical body, worth, and nervous system safety. Chiron asks us right now: where are you still holding contraction around your own value? Can you trust yourself enough to stay open and receive?

As we approach Saturday, sit with these questions:

●      Where in your body or life are you still bracing against abundance, fearing that holding more light requires more struggle?

●      How can Chiron in Taurus help you soften your nervous system today so your inner lioness (Strength) can fully receive the starry vision (The Star)?

●      What does it look like to stand in your steady, quiet authority and simply let the light in?

Saturday, the gate opens. The star returns. Take a deep breath, root into your feet, align with the lioness in your heart, and stay steady enough to let it in.

With love,

Kris

SUMMARY OF TRANSITS

August 3 (Monday)

Chiron stations retrograde in Taurus

Chiron stations retrograde in Taurus at 0 degrees 52 minutes, turning the wounded healer inward through the terrain of the body, worth, and belonging. The months ahead invite a slow excavation: where did you learn that safety must be earned, that your value fluctuates with what you produce or possess? The senses become oracles now — instinct, appetite, and unease all carry intelligence. Healing here is not dramatic; it is the patient re-rooting of the soul in its own inherent worth. He does this just after sextiling the North Node in Pisces and trining the South Node in Virgo — a rare double nodal contact that lifts this station from personal to collective, old competence put in service of new trust.

August 6 (Thursday)

Venus enters Libra \ The Sun in Leo trines Saturn Rx in Aries

Venus enters Libra, her own temple, restoring artistry, diplomacy, and the sacred geometry of relationship. Beauty becomes a strategy and harmony a discipline — connection is now a place where the soul does deliberate work. That evening, the Sun in Leo trines Saturn retrograde in Aries, aligning radiant self-expression with structural integrity. Boundaries drawn today do not diminish your light; they give it a vessel. Know where you end and others begin, and your brilliance stops leaking and starts building.

August 8 (Saturday)

Lion's Gate

The Sun stands in Leo as Sirius completes its heliacal return, reappearing at dawn after weeks hidden in the sun's light — the reunion the Egyptians tracked as Isis rejoining Osiris, and set their entire calendar by. This date's own numerology lands on 17, the Star, which reduces to 8, Strength — the same card seen close and seen far. Chiron's retrograde station three days prior means the fire this card asks you to hold steady has already been tested once before the gate opens.

August 9 (Sunday)

Mercury enters Leo

Mercury enters Leo, and the mind takes the stage. Language warms, thought becomes performance in the noblest sense — the articulation of what the heart already knows. This is a season for speaking with color and conviction, for narrating your own becoming rather than waiting to be narrated. Praise generously, declare bravely, and remember that voicing your truth aloud is one of the oldest rituals of personal authority.
