Week of Sept 8 to Sept 13
Yesterday, I got back from a seven-day Huachuma intensive, working with San Pedro cactus medicine. For two of the three ceremonial days I was completely convinced I was separate. I attached myself to that story so convincingly I actually wanted to leave. On the third day I asked two dear friends and the main teacher, the keeper of Grandfather, for help. Creating that safety in community let me finally drop into the medicine, and the day that followed was full of love and bliss. Looking back at my own chart, the astrology explains exactly what I lived.
Week of Aug 30 to Sept 6
Jupiter and Saturn, the two farthest planets we can see with the naked eye, have just formed a positive, harmonious aspect: a trine, the first of three the pair will make in the next year. Astrologers call them the teaching planets, because between them they carry the two lessons that shape a life. I remember climbing to the top of Signal Hill on December 21, 2020, with half of Long Beach, watching two points of light draw close enough to nearly touch. That same month, I planted a seed of my own and took my first astrology class. Six years later, this trine is asking the same question it did then: what have you been building, and is it finally ready to expand?
Week of Aug 24 to 30
This morning I woke up heavy, carrying what came in last night. A friend of mine, an HR director for a local city government, told me she'd been called into a meeting with her boss and the assistant city manager at the end of last week and fired on the spot, effective immediately. Another friend texted too, rattled by a power outage that had just hit her block and anxious about testifying in court today, and worried, in the middle of all of it, about how she'd manage to straighten her hair before she had to show up and be believed.
Week of Aug 17 to 23
The week opens still processing the solar eclipse at the South Node in Leo, and two questions are sitting underneath it, waiting to be examined: can you shine, create, and lead from the heart, or does the ego need an audience to feel real, or is it too shy to be seen at all? Does your voice come from conviction, or from needing to be right, or needing to be heard?
Week of Aug 10 to 16
We're at the beginning of eclipse season, the window that opens about a month before the first eclipse (August 12) and doesn't close until a month after the second one (August 27). If things have felt disruptive lately, chaotic, a little unwelcome, plans dissolving, conversations turning blunt, ground that suddenly feels less solid, that's the instruction, not bad luck. You're officially being shown what's ready to move, so that the self you don't fully recognize yet has room to step forward.

The Lion's Gate Opens
We are fully in Leo season, the very energy this community of lionesses was born under. I named this group right after the inauguration during the Full Moon in Leo, knowing we would need your fierce, steady, heart-centered lioness energy to carry us through the collective shifts we are in, as only babies in the Age of Aquarius.
